Dr Alison Kearney graduated from The University of Glasgow in 1995 before moving to sunnier Queensland in 1999. She then completed physician training in palliative medicine in 2005. She now works at The Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital in the consult liaison team and has a concurrent appointment with the department of gastroenterology to support patients with advanced cirrhosis. Her research interests include the use of methadone and medicinal cannabis in palliative care and the palliative care needs of hepatology patients .
