Dr Oyekoya Ayonrinde

Dr Oyekoya (Koya) Ayonrinde is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth and has adjunct appointments at The University of Western Australia and at Curtin University in Perth. Koya’s main research interest is in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in adolescents and young adults. He is a senior investigator studying the developmental origins, epidemiology and clinical significance of NAFLD in the Raine Cohort, one of the largest and most successful longitudinal pregnancy and birth cohorts in the world. He is the first author or co-author of several publications regarding the epidemiology, developmental, dietary and genetic risk factors for NAFLD in adolescents. His other clinical and research interests include upper gastrointestinal bleeding and colorectal cancer screening.
