Associate Professor Peter Boyd

Associate Professor Boyd has been longstanding Director of Medicine and Gastroenterology at Cairns Hospital. He is a General Physician, Gastroenterologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist. He is a senior member of the National Examinations Panel of the RACP. He is a sub committee chair of the QLD GE network and past chair of the Northern QLD Cardiac Network.He has been a passionate advocate for provision of more comprehensive specialist services to regional areas especially Far North  QLD and improved outreach services to remote communities. His main research interest is in the field of endoscopist directed sedation.
