The Hospital Research Foundation Group

The Hospital Research Foundation Group is proud to be an Event Sponsor of the GESA Research Workshop 2024.

We are a leading funder of medical research and patient care initiatives across more than 50 areas of disease and illness, with a proud history in supporting gastroenterology.

For the past 10 years we’ve supported trials for faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), and in 2018, helped establish BiomeBank, Australia’s first public stool bank and microbial therapeutics company pioneered by gastroenterologists Assoc Prof Robert Bryant and Dr Sam Costello.

We continue to support Assoc Prof Bryant in a five-year Fellowship to investigate both FMT and diet strategies to treat inflammatory bowel disease.

Other significant projects we’re proud to support include:-

- Developing AI to better detect suspicious lesions on colonoscopy and endoscopy

- A trial to reduce reliance on PPI medication by focusing on diet and lifestyle

- Rolling out a new IBD care database in hospitals

- And much more.

This support is only possible thanks to our donors, fundraisers and ticket buyers in The Hospital Research Foundation Home Lottery. Learn more at http://www.hospitalresearch.org.au
